Being part of the 2020 grade 8 class affected by covid-19 was not easy however I enrolled at Southampton Private Academy. Despite the circumstances the following year in grade 9, I was chosen first head girl of prefects (Ambassadors) and the school gave me the chance to show my leadership skill.
I have been part of award ceremonies every school year and each one was more special than the other. I have been with the school since its first year until grade 12 and they have showed me nothing but at most support. They included other grades to participate in the celebration of their first 100% pass rate from the pioneer Matric class of 2023 and being part of that celebration encouraged me to try and perform to the best of my abilities as I was doing grade 12 the following year.
The staff, including teachers, receptionists, and cleaners are caring and supportive. The year 2024 was not a good year with bumps along the way but my class and I made it through. The school is an examsple of a community that knows how to raise and groom a child. Each and every member prepared me for the real world and I am extremely grateful. This lead me to achieving a bachelor’s degree along with 3 distinctions in the process, and I have Southampton to thank for their assistance and never ending support.
